The Importance of Blogging

As you can tell, we took a little break from blogging for a bit. After our launch, we received a successful amount of traffic and the blogging took a back seat. We know this is bad, we tell our customers it is bad… it’s like the mechanic with the banged-up car. We didn’t need more traffic so we stopped. Big Mistake.

Why this is such a big mistake is because… well… SEO gosh darnit! (Among other things).

Like the intro to Workaholics: You Gotta Be Fresh! Google loves it when you upload new content for it to Index and rewards you with better visibility when you are. But that’s not the only benefit.

Blogging allows you to go after longtail keywords that you would not be able to stuff into your site otherwise. It can also position you as a “thought-leader” in your industry.
You can use your blog content as a pillar for your social media content, and even increase search engine traffic!

The beauty of blogs is they do not HAVE to be long! With the current attention span of people on the internet, you can generally state the facts without having to go into lengthy and unnecessary detail… but don’t tell other marketers that.

Now there are plenty of other decent reasons to have a blog… for instance, you can build relationships with customers who follow you consistently, offer keen insight and advice and you’ll probably see countless other reasons if you Google the importance of blogs, but at the end of the day, the most important is how it affects your SEO.
